Both of my motors or regulators are shot.

I dont feel like spending the money to get them done, or even attempt to do them myself.

Is it hard to convert it to manual windows?

Converting over involves more time and effort than just replacing your window motors.

If you are set on changing them over to manual window cranks I suggest going to a salvage yard and finding a donor car there.

Grab everything you can in one trip.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do my friend.

Yes, because the window motors only take ~an hour each to replace. And I'm sure the second one won't take as long as the first because you'll have a better idea of what you're doing.

Shoebox has a great guide involving changing out the window motors. I had both doors done in about an hour or less, can't remember, but it went really quick. Changing the motors would be alot easier then doing a manual conversion IMO and most auto parts stores offer lifetime warranties on the window motors they sell.

If only the motors are shot, it would be a lot more work to convert to manual windows as you would have to replace everything window related in the door (except the glass). I suppose you would need new door panels, too.

Hm, ok well my problem is I bought the car and I was told my window regulators were bad, But i bought it from some kid who I think just assumed that.

The passenger side doesnt move at all.

The driver side, will move down like an inch, then stop, wait like 2-3 minutes then it will go down more and so on.

BUT If I hold the button down and push the window down it will go down untill I stop pushing on it.

So with those symptoms...is it the motor or the regulator?

I'd say motor.

The guy you bought it from probably didn't know what a regulator was.

It would be the motor. The speed in which it moves it determined by the motor. On the other hand, if it doesnt not move in one certain direction but moves in the other one, it is the switch. in your case, the driver motor is going, and the passenger switch is dead or the motor is dead.....try moving the passenger window with the driver's door panel, and then with the one on the passenger door panel. If neither work, B-I-N-G-O M-O-T-O-R-!

If your hell bent on converting to manual windows, might get go to the junk yard and buy both doors. If you can find 2 doors in the same color, I'd just swap out the doors. If the interiors match, then all is that much better
