Camaro i've been looking at

I wanted to run this one by this forum, you all know a lot more about these cars than I do.

1992, with T-Tops
305 TPI
Under 80k miles
Car stock to the bone except exhaust and stereo
Power everything
Int/Ext immaculate, car was religiously taken care of
Clear Title

I've been bent on the 350, but for a casual driver will I notice the difference? What kind of HP difference is there between the two TPI motors?

The guy wants $8500 for it. Seemed a bit high to me. What do you think?

Re: Camaro i've been looking at

I believe the HP difference between the 5.0 and 5.7 was 15hp. I'm not sure what the torque differennce was.

I do recall though that the 5.0 with a 5 speed was about as fast as the 5.7 with the auto. I'd rather have the 5 speed.

If you are going to mod the car the 5.7 is preferable. You can always put a T56 behind it.

Well the price seems ridiculous to me. I bought my third-gen with the same mileage for 2000.00 and that was with a 305TPI mated to a T-5. You can find yourself a LS1 equipped F-body for that price.

Re: Camaro i've been looking at

I wouldn't pay more than $4500 for it, and it'd have to be in perfect condition for me to even pay that. I bought my 91 V6 with 116k miles on it in immaculate condition (even the engine and engine compartment was clean as a whistle) and it runs like a spotted ape for $3650, t-tops don't leak either.

What color is it?

Ohh that makes it even better. I love black 3rd gens. As long as everything's in immaculate condition and it runs fine, I'd ****** that up. Try to talk him down some though.

TOO HIGH. Click on www.cars.com and pull up Camaro's and put in $8000 price and see what comes up. I think you'll find that your options are alot better than the third gen. I've got $5000 in my 95 Z28 and thats with a almost perfect paint job and perfect (yes Perfect) Leather interior, also the car only had 94,000 miles on it too. Not to bad for a ten year old car. I bought it last Febuary.

Here's some nice looking 3rd gen for less than 5 grand.

TOO EXPENSIVE, I bought my 96 6spd, t-top, good leather, black, 4.11s, exhaust, clear title for 7,000. I wouldn't give anything over 4 maybe 45 if I really wanted that particular car.
