ok, i bought a 35th anniv. z28 camaro and i was wondering why when i look around it seems the only camaro they made in 35th anniv. was the SS? and also how much hp does it have? thanks to anyone who can explain to me
you seem very smart in this field man...and trust me im trying to learn but i could always use some help and i need some advice on what i could and should do to this car to make it about 400 hp
well ya didnt look @ mine......mine is a 35th anniversary Z-28!
to get to close to 400 hp...you can do all the simple mods first I.E
cold air intake
headers
catback exhaust
then there is better flowing heads
bigger camshaft
some guys use nitrous to get em there to 400 horses
im sure ive missed a few items...someone else will chime in im sure

Ha ha ha. I live and sleep f-bodies. ha ha ha. Well you have to think about what you wanna do with your car. You need a little direction. Are u going to Drag race or Do road course. B/c what works for one thing does not really work for the other. So first you need to think about what kind of racing your going to want to do. Then you have to think about how much money your willing to spend. Why do you want to make 400 hp? Is that like a personal goal of yours?
P.S. I didnt realize your age. Im only 21 and I mean no disrespect if I sound Cocky. Just trying to help.

On paper, the LS1 Z28s made 305hp. The SS models made 320 and in that year SLP offered an additional option that bumped the power to 345. However, on the dyno, all the trim models put about the same amount to the wheels so they are all rated very closely to each other. Are you looking to make 400hp at the flywheel, or at the wheels?
If I were you i'd do what I did. Get your suspension done first. That way you have a great platform to add power to.
You need:
Re-Location Brackets
Aftermarket control arms
Torque arm
Subframe Connectors
Pan-Hard Adjustable
Then when your done with that, Add the bolt on's Like:
Air Lid with Elbow
Cat-back exhaust
Y-pipe with high flow cats OR Off road Y-Pipe
A PCM tune-About 15hp at the wheels
Headers-LongTube header Prefered
Aftermarket Clutch Stage 2 recommended
Roller Rockers
With that you should be close to 400hp. If you dont wanna do the Roller Rockers then Do Some head work and Cam and you will be very 400hp easy.

Forget tbyrne, they're priced higher than others and Summit isn't dedicated to the LS1 like others so their prices and tech help for the LS1 isn't going to be the best either. Instead look into Texas Speed, WS6store, Thunder Racing, LS1speed, Futral, etc.
Other supsension places are BMR, Spohn, Wolfe Racecraft, Strano, hotparts, etc.
There are a lot of great local shops in TX also.
