A/C diagnostics
Is there a good way to test the seals on an A/C system with out wasting all kinds of freon?
Also I discovered the pipe that runs into the back of my compressor leaks. I'm not sure if it's bent or just has some bad seals. What do you guys recommend for fixing an issue such as this.
Thanks!

Re: A/C diagnostics
Without freon in the system you can't check for leaks.
If the hose at the back of the compressor leaks then you need to replace it. It's called the manifold hose assembly or sucktion/discharge assembly.

Re: A/C diagnostics
You can test for leaks by putting a vaccum on the system... If it doesn't hold, then you know you have a leak... It won't tell you where the leak is though... The best way to find a leak is to use a UV detection system...
If you don't have the right tools and products, you're probably better off taking it to a qualified AC tech shop...
Good luck...

Re: A/C diagnostics
What is the easiest way to change that manifold hose assembly or sucktion/discharge assembly? I would like to do it on my own. However, that is how we broke the last one.
