A/C is cold but the clutch stays on???
What does it mean when the A/C clutch stays on and does not turn? It cycled before I put about a half of a can in it. The A/C is cold and seems to work OK. I know very little about air conditioning. BUT...
I decided to become an A/C genius and just put some R-134 in my Camaro because the A/C was not as cold as I thought it should be. I used one of the trigger kits that have a gauge on it to indicate if the low side has too little, just enough, or way too much Freon in it. It does not give a pound reading. I put about a half a can in it and the A/C was a lot cooler. I only got just past the green area (too little refrigerant) and slightly into the blue area (just enough) and never did get close to the Yellow area (too much) of the gauge. It was dark out and the outside temp was 70* and 80% humidity. I am satisfied with the temperature of the air coming out of the vent. Now I am concerned with the compressor not turning off and I do not want to destroy any thing.
PS> I have an old set of dual gauges that are new and never used. But they were made before R134 was invented. How can I convert these gauges to use R134?
