Burnout Contest

like the title says, yes a burnout contest....

what would i need to worry about upgrading or supporting for a burnout contest? is there anything that might be a major concern while burning the tires for a long amount of time?

besides a line lock and tires what else would be needed? what tires would be best for something like this, or would you think would last the longest? im just curious, were having one at my school in the spring, think i should do it?

thanks. (i dont know if this is the right section but i figured it would fit in here.)

as long as you have a line lock and extra money for the tires your fine. BUT keep an eye on the rpm, a smoke show at 6k breaks stuff. I wouldn't go over 4500.

if you are automatic, it'll put a lot of stress on the transmission.

I would get a tranny cooler with a fan
and an aftermarket oil cooler as well.

as far as what tires will be the "best", get like an H-rated tire. Something hard and narrow

I second the trans cooler w/fan. That's brutal on an automatic.

I usually just brake torque my car to 6k and come back down to about 4500-5000 rpm. The H rated tires are great tires to do it with...also I would think they would be the cheapest based on the h rating.

Make sure you have crap wheels on the back. I've seen the tire go and the person end up on the wheels. I've also seen where the tire blew and tore up the rear 1/4 panel so I personally wouldn't do this. This will also be hard on your already weak from the factory differential and no cooler can relieve that.

for the rear end, buy a T/A girdle and stud kit
Herron performance has them right now for like 170 on a group purchase
