brake light/ turn signal prob

Ok heres the problem if any one can give suggestions. Left turn signals work intermittently .. somtimes no problem other times get the solid light on the dash and they dont work... also left brake light works intermittently I noticed it was not working so when checking gave it a little hit and it started to work. Any ideas outhere..... also does any one have any links that show how to remove tail lights to replace if thats what I need to do.... fyi its a 95 Z28
Thanks for any input.

Access to both tail lights is through the rear hatch by removing the plastic covers either over the spare or the one on the opposite side. Easy to remove and replace bulbs. As for the light problems I would first remove all the bulbs and clean the contacts. I have had same problem and when they are not working properly the lights do all kinds of crazy things. If that doesn't work check the sockets themselves for corrosion or damage.

Shoebox clued me in to the ground wire to the socket of the offending bulb....if I tugged on the ground wire with the blinker on it would start blinking, push it in some and it that light would go out or blink slowly. I don't know how to fix it correctly so I had to zip-tie the wire in the "tugged" position. Note: tug does not = yank

Sometimes it's as simple as an intermittent bulb too. My left front bulb would work when driving, but not when sitting parked...turns out the filament was making contact when it vibrated as I drove down the street. It seemed really odd at first because my dash lights would do weird things.

I got the same problem...I thought it was cuz I just installed Headers and the computer was going crazy or something since i reset it. Only because it happened DIRECTLY after installation of the headers.

I guess lifting the car & engine up and moving stuff around, it moved the ground, socket or bulb just enough to cause a break in the current. Its the left turn signal..why never the right?

I will investigate it more today and see what I come up with

I forgot to post about it, but I found out what it was...

The little black wire (ground) that is bolted to the frame to the right of the air box. I had relocated the ground to the bolt just to the right of it. I did this because I had temporarily lost the EGR bolt, and that one fit perfect.

A couple days ago I moved it back to where it was, because I finally found the original bolt for the EGR. Just make sure its nice and tight, and clean the bolt and threaded insert to where the bolt will lay flush against it and get a good, clean connection.

No problems since.
