Brake light problem suggestions?

I noticed the other day my drivers side brake light would light up bright, but the passengers side would glow dim.I replaced the bulb and it still does it.I did notice that inside that socket there seemed to be a little bit of rust/krud on the inside of it.Would that cause this type of problem?I can't get outside to try and clean it because we have a foot of snow on the ground.Just wanted to get some opinons.BTW,anyone have the part number for the socket? Thanks

if they get wet inside, they lose its reflectiveness. Might be the cause.

YES, corrosion in the sockets will increase the amperage draw on that bulb. This will also increase the other bulb on the same circuit, which makes it brighter. This will greatly reduce the life of the bright bulb, and it will burn out fairly soon. If you can not get the socket cleaned out, you can buy replacement socket from the Auto Parts store. Also make sure your ground wires are good.
