brake light in dash is on...
I took my 95 Z28 out from storage the other day and the brake light in the dash is on... I had the battery disconnected all winter and the only thing i did to it was polish the alternator and the MAF sensor.. I did a quick search on here and found that low fluid could cause it, so i checked it. It seemd a little low, but not too bad so i topped it off and the light is still on. Any ideas?

I had my light come on, after reading up on it, I found this. The brake light can come on if the Brake bias is not working properly. Such as a clogged brake line, or a broken ABS brake module. I jacked the car up and free spun each wheel. I had major resistence on font passenger. Found out the caliper locked up, Rebuilt the caliper, repalced the rotors and front brakes. Light went away, tire spun freely.

Although this might sound silly, if the third brake light is out, it can cause the light to come on. Another thing is if a plug wire is to close to any of the ABS lines, that will also cause the light to come on.

Couldn't you feel a frozen caliper. That happened in my truck and I could tell right away? My 1999 GTP has the "e-brake" light on, but it doesn't feel like any of the calipers are frozen closed. Though I did put new bakes on last summer, and they are starting to squeek already.

ok thanks guys.. I will check into those things tomorrow.. If the third brake light is out, would the brake light in the dash be on all the time, or just when i hit the brakes? Either way i guess its easy enough to check

Burned bulb creates an open electrical condition, so always on.
