Bouncing Trans Am Headlights
Bouncing Trans Am Headlights
Has anybody solved the bouncy headlight problem? I know the problem is that the braided cable is not taut but how can you fix this?? It's not adjustable...
Every time I hit a bump at night my driver's side light shakes and it's driving me nuts..
Thanks for your help...

Re: Bouncing Trans Am Headlights
I have this same problem on my passenger side. I think I am just going to buy a small nut and bolt from the hardware store, and drill the hole out where the cable connects to the body, and then tighten it down with the nut and bolt.
Re: Bouncing Trans Am Headlights
same thing here, but on my drivers side... never really noticed it until the other day. but it sure is annoying, is the only solution to redrill the braided steel line?
Re: Bouncing Trans Am Headlights
I was thinking about trying some sort of adjuster mechanism on it similar to the cables that are attached to inside dor handle on my garage door. Or something like bmx caliper brakes use to clamp down and shorten a cable in order to tighten it...
I bet a lot of our cars are doing this...but it's probably the ones that are 10 years old or so and most don't even notice it since they're now dealing with leaking t-tops, failing power window motors, rattles and all the other little things that plague older cars....
I really wanna keep this car tight. People are actually starting to give me complements on my TA and that's cool...never got those when it was new for some reason :-/
