On my '95 TA both passenger and driver outside power mirrors will not go up and down. They move left and right just fine. I took the switch out and verified that it is working properly using Shoebox's switch wiring diagram.
So now is there a separate motor that controls up and down or is that actually behind each mirror?? I hear the motor running when moving rt/left right behind each mirror so if it was a motor I'm not sure why both suides would go out at the same time....

I would still look at the switch. I find it highly ironic that BOTH sides wouldn't work at the same time when using one switch.

 

Well thats what I thought too, so this afternoon I took the switch out of my '99 and tried it, but it made no difference.
So are the motors behind the mirror? If so, then I'll take that apart and start poking around there with the volt/amp meter to see if its getting power to it when the botton is depressed.

 

Look at the schematic and see if there's any other common point for both sides between the switch and the motors.
