both front turn signals not working

About a month ago my left front turn signal bulb went bad in my 02 Firehawk. Then a week later the right front did the same (this has been a common occurrence with this car). So no big deal, I'll just replace the bulbs like I have probably 10 times since I've owned the car.

However, when I replaced them this morning with new bulbs neither one worked. I'm thinking that maybe the connectors that the bulbs plug into are bad? It just seems odd that both would go out at the same time. So before I go cutting and splicing in new ones I wanted to see if there was some other simpler thing I should check first (fuse, relay, switch, etc.). And not sure if this is meaningful at all but neither of the new front bulbs worked when i turned the hazard lights on either.

Check your fuse first. Chances are you have a short somewhere and it's going to keep blowing bulbs or popping fuses. You need to go through the circuits for your turn signals and make sure all your grounds are good, no exposed wires, etc.

Get a volt meter or test light and check both contacts in the sockets. Ground your light or meter to the car and check both contacts seperately. If no power, probe the wire right before it goes into the socket, if still nothing, and you have already checked fuses/relays, then your signal switch or headlight switch either one could be bad. More likely signal switch. Hope its just bad or corroded sockets. if you have a small pick or thin bladed pocket knife or small sharp screwdriver, scrape the contacts really well in the sockets. Let us know what ya find.

Are your other lights still functioning correctly? Flashing at normal speed, etc?

Here's an update: This morning the left front turn signal started working. Right front still does not. There was definitely some corrosion/gunk when I pulled the old bulbs out so I'm going to clean the contacts this evening as best i can and see if that fixes it.

Appreciate the help. Will keep you all posted on what happens.

It usually helps to use bulb grease on the bulb contacts,it helps seal out moisture & prevent corrosion on the contacts

Probably just dirty sockets.

We are selling bigger gaskets to keep water out of there which is the biggest reason you replace bulbs so much. Put our bigger gaskets on and no more exploded bulbs.
