Re: borlamouth??

The addition of a Borla XR1 would make it sound good. Go to www.ls1sounds.com. They have some sound and video clips on there that can give you a good idea of what it will sound like. It will probably cut down on the rasp and give it a deeper sound. A lot of guys have done it and been satisfied.

Re: borlamouth??

I am running the Borla catbac and FLP longtubes. I think it gets kinda raspy when I get on it. But then again, I have no cats. I hear putting cats on makes it sound better.

Re: borlamouth??

I ran an 18" chambered inline muffler with just a 3.5 inch O.D.. Fits nicely!!! Its a chambered muffler and looks like the ones on the GMMG. Also has a straight through 3 inches...No bottlenecking!! Took away ALOT of the rasp and made it a bit quieter than the LM. Costed me $86.00 shipped from Torquetechexh.com. Smoothed out the tone and gave it a deeper sound. If the LM is a 10 on loudness, than the TT chambered would be an 8. I love it!!! My car doesnt sound like an old pickup with glasspacks anymore!!!

Re: borlamouth??

Thats how they explained it to me(the longer the quieter), but with the ends on the muffler, it ended up beind like 21 inches overall. They carry a 26 incher I believe, but I was scared it would be too long. Help this can help ya!!

Re: borlamouth??

Do a search for Dynomouth. It seems that many people that want to muffle the LM get a Dynomax bullet muffler. It is said to get rid of alot of the rasp and still give it that loud, deep sound. If you dont have cats it can sound pretty raspy too. I only got shorty headers and stock cats, but mine has never really sounds that raspy. When it gets up to 5,500+rpm it sounds a bit bad but I rarely rev it that high anyways.
