Bigger Throttle Bodies?
Bigger Throttle Bodies?
Are bigger throttle bodies on stock motors pointless? Are there any possible computer error with the addition of bigger Tb's? Do the typical "bolt on" Tb's offer the same coolant passages and TPS/IAC Sensor and throttle linkage connections?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Bigger Throttle Bodies?
pretty much pointless, waste of money.
but yes they use all the same passages and sensors. in fact any one that i've seen requiress you to swap over your sensors to the new unit. and one problme is having a way to adjust for proper position of the TPS. seems i've heard it's not as easy as just swapping...you have to adjust it.

Re: Bigger Throttle Bodies?
i dont have any dyno numbers to prove it just SOTP. i had my stocker bored to twin 53.5 mm with the hypertech airfoil and i thought it was worth it. i did both at the same time so i cant say for sure if any diff's were the bigger bores or the airfoil. it definately operated smoother and sealed better. the guy was running adds on ebay. i think i had his link on my cardomain site.
