best wires to splice into...

Whats the best wire to splice into to power my electric water pump? I prefer to use one of the wires on the passenger side strut tower. Must be only hot when ignition is on.

And, whats a good wire on driver side to hook up power to for my e-fan switch? I had it to my cig lighter but it keeps blowing fuses.

Im not the best with figuring out wiring crap and need to do this stuff quick, some day soon i'll have a friend of mine help me with a relay and such when im home from school.

sorry but this doesnt seem to fit in specifically with any of the other topics so i put it here.

I would not do any of that wiring without using relays, period.

Ok, well i was on that shoebox site before making this thread and couln't find a good diagram for what i needed. If you could direct me to that then thanks.

Right now i DO have an led light on the wire for the water pump, and the pump IS fused, so if it fails, i will know from the LED. (So im not just hardwiring it in if that what you thought)

As for my question, i still would like a better answer. I dont have most of my tools because i am at school 300 miles from home. I drive the car on weekends, and only drive it to go out for a cruise, so im not to worried about how its wired right now, and like i said, someday soon i will have some one help with a realy.

As for the fans, why would i use a realy? i have a switch and it works, i just want a better spot to put it so i dont have wires in the engine bay showing like they do now.

Relays isolate a low current circuit from a high current source, as in protecting your fan motors from the high current of the alternator output. Without a relay, an energy spike could easily destroy any unprotected electronics.

It might be easier for us to help you if you provided us with the year and model of your car, as different years had drastically different wiring setups.
