Best way to get money back out of car

I just bought a 94 formula yesterday (sunday) with a bad cam bearing.
It is a m6, which i will be putting in my t/a.

Now here are my 2 options

1) I could replace the cam bearings. put it all back togather, put the a4 and everything needed for it in the car clean it up. ( car is in excelant condition inside and out) and sell it for 4k obo

or

2) Part out the car as it sits right now

Im looking for the best way to get the most money for it.

What would you guys suggest?

The car is a red 1994 formula hardtop

I would go with your 1st choice. It's a quick sale and you will be done with it.

Option 2 could take awhile, and then you are left with the leftovers.

Re: Best way to get money back out of car

If all you wanted this car for was to get the T-56 out of it to use in your T/A, you'd be miles ahead to just sell it as it is to somebody who's interested in fixing it up and keeping it and just take the money from that sale and go buy yourself another T-56.

Changing from an A4 to an M6 in one car is enough of a PITA in and of itself, doing it in TWO cars is a monumental task.

I'd hate to see you get halfway through it and start to realize that that 4K OBO you have in your head is starting to not be worth it anymore...

Well right now luckly the t56 is already out of the 1 car.

and i am pulling both motors in both cars, my t/a is getting heads and cam and a rebuild so when it all goes back in both motors will have the trannys hooked to them. Should make it less of a headache to some degree

hah, not really, transmission is easy, it just bots in, the hard part is making everything else fit right.

I'm with thesoundandthefury, if you got a good deal on it, sell it for a profit/even, and just buy a t56 on ebay or something.
