Best place to put a exhaust cut out

Alright guys its time to louden up my Z28

Gonna get a cutout with the manual cable to open it, and I'm wonderin where the best place to put it would be.

I'm gonna get a shop to do it, so basically I'm wonderin if I should do it right after the headers, or after the Cat.

A muffler guy I met who had a camaro of my same year said that the Cats didn't have 02 sensors so I could put it before it and it wouldn't matter, then drop the cat and put in a strait pipe.

Just let me know what you think.

If you have LT's I'd roccomend putting one behind each header. Thats what Ihave on my car and it sounds VERY mean when opened up.

Are the cable ones still common? What is the advantage to electric cutouts when there are cable actuated ones? Is it just the flexability of where you can put an electric cutout?

Do the cable actuated ones seal up well?
