Batteries Dead and leaking, decent replacement?
I have another question...
On the LS1 How do you disconnect the positive cable from the starter? I can't seem to beable to reach the starter from the top now can I see exactly where the cable's going. I can't lift the car in its current state either...

Optima's are nice but pricey... I just went to Autozone and bought their Duralast gold. It has a 3 year free replacement warranty and pro-rated to 7 or 8 years. The Duralast Gold only cost me $72 which I thought was pretty good for a 3 year free replacement battery. BTW, the same company that makes the Duralast makes Sears Diehard and quite a few other batteries.

Yea. I went with a Costco battery, which _supposidly_ is built by a good battery manufacturer.. It was $50 for a 5 year warrenty I believe? Or was it 3?
I just replace my batteries every 5 years about anyways just to be on the safe side, for extra insurance not to be caught by surprise with a dead battery.
My friends in AZ tells me the heat kills their batteries, usually in an year or two!

Why do you need to remove the positive cable from the starter and why cant you lift the car?
I CAN lift the car, but I only have the spare tire jack and a jackstand so I'll only beable to clear one side... thing is, I have a very...very...very deep phobia about 3,000 lb objects just inches on top of me relying on only a small piece of metal to keep its clearance and my original diameter...
Usually I do all my work on ramps, however at this state the car isn't ganna start so I can't get it up there...
