average mileage

is it unusual that my z only has 14,000 original miles on the odo?

i've noticed a lot of higher mileage cars on here and wouldn't that affect performance?

Hmm, my uncle's 95 z28 has 215,000 miles on it, and it runs like a champ. Probably missing a bit of power but nothing you can't notice (at least I can't). We aren't really shocked at the high mileage, rather the fact that his car has 200,000+ miles on it and running the stock opti

A lot of people on here have a Camaro as a daily driver so they're going to have high mileage, including me. I'm just over 170,000 now.

Depends, if the car is well maintained, the mileage shouldn't be a factor.

I've got 229,000 and some change. I bought the car with 223~224000 on it and it was as strong (or at least felt so) as a new one. If the waterpump had not gone out, the original motor would still be in it. When I tore the motor down, the bearings were worn, but no more that some of the 75,000 old school small blocks I have seen.

14,000 is very low for a 13 year old car (at least out here where 25000 a year is normal).
