Automatic Shifter handle replacement on 4th gen

Are there any aftermarket shifter handles for the 4th gen cars? I cannot find any that allow you to keep the button. Something like the one Steeda makes for the Mustang. How about swapping a WS6 shifter handle for the stock camaro?

I swapped to a Firebird stock leather shift handle in my car years ago, works perfect.

What parts did you need? Shifter plus anything else from the Firebird? Any internal handle parts springs, screws and or any cables? Did you reuse the Camaro metal pin to secure the Firebird shifter handle.

Thanks

No other parts needed, the T handle just slides on and reused the Camaro "staple."

Found the package with the PN and plugged it into gmpartsdirect to see if it was still good - still good but GM list is now $155/$92 - list was about $72? when I got mine. 12563172

Im using one from a 99 Olds Alero parts car I had. Tan leather, matches my interior, has the side button. Little bigger than the Bird/TA handles but the feel is pretty good and secure. Popped it on and stuck the staple back in it.

I cannot find that handle 12563172 anywhere. The dealers showed me it is out of stock everywhere. Not listed as backordered just out of stock. Where can I get a leather shift **** now?

You can always search junkyards for other GM shifters, most automatic shifters would work you'd think. You can straight up switch the Firebird and Camaro shifters. There was a company that made and adapter where you could put a M6 shifter on your A4. Don't know where to search for them though.

See if you can order it online from gmpartsdirect.com, have to pay shipping and handling but their price is MUCH lower than what the dealer wants.

Ebay! I picked up my leather Firebird T handle to replace the crap *** stocker in my V6 Camaro. I had to look for several weeks before I found a decent leather one. Could find the plastic ones all day long though. I haven't seen any aftermarket leather T handles, only plastic ones in a few different colors and a carbon fiber look.

Do you have a pic of the Olds handle installed?

Excuse the dirty carpet and broken ashtray lid, etc... Its cold outside I dont feel like getting sicker cleaning right now :P

Had to smack it a couple times to get it to go down all the way but it fits like a glove now. Functions perfectly.
