Hi Guys, Thinking of replaceing the trans shifter **** in my 99 Z28 with auto trans. Seems like there is too much graphite gray in the interior. Anyway,anyone do this? What did you use and howw do you remove the ****? Thanks

 

Your **** should have a retainer like this one. Use a small flat blade screwdriver to pry it out and then pull the **** straight up. It may be a bit stuck, so don't smack yourself in the face when it comes free.

 

As far as what to replace it with, I went with the MBA Products A4 shifter ****. I got a black one with a silver Z28 logo. Check out the supporting advertiser index for their site.
