Here's what im thinking. By installing an aftermarket o2 extension you are increasing the number of connections from one spot to two. The connectors are an added resistance to the path of voltage. Since the computer uses hundredths and thousandths of a volt as a measurement, line loss should be kept at an absolute minimum. A connector is going to create much more resistance to the path of electricity then would a good quality soldered joint would. (the electricity has to jump from one end of the connector to the other) So why not pick up a high quality silver content wire, silver solder, shrink tube and make your own? Seems to me it would be better and cheaper. What do you all think?

Cook Performance

I made my own O2 extensions from 12 gauge wire and heat shrink butt connectors and they have worked great for two years now. The trick is to make sure you get a perfect crimp so no voltage drop occurs throughout the length of the wire and to make sure the shrink tube makes an air tight seal.
Its an easy task, Do it right the first time!

I made my own as well. Just take your time and do it right and they will be fine.

I extended my harness, not the O2 wiring.

You want to extend the car harness, not the O2 wiring, if you are going to do it yourself. The O2s draw reference air from the space in between the wire and insulation. Splicing on that part of the wire can (not saying it will ruin them) compromise O2 performance (which you seem to be trying to avoid).
