Anyone ever use the Race Ready E-Cutout?
Anyone ever use the Race Ready E-Cutout?
Got this installed about a month ago. Worked great at first...then broke about 2 days later. Finally got it fixed yesterday. Tried it once before I left the shop and it worked fine. Go to try it again today...doesnt work. WTF is the problem? Is this just a crap brand or what? Thanks.
Re: Anyone ever use the Race Ready E-Cutout?
its the nature of the beast. Check the wiring. If its the motor itself, take it back and demand a refund. I had a DMH cutout, and the whole idea I think is a POS. The thing dumped under my rear seat, and turned the floorboard black. It also shook my interior into a sympony of rattles. Then the wire running to the electric motor melted after 3 months on the car. Then the motor part fell completely off while I was driving soon after that.
So I sent the part back to DMH and it took them a couple of weeks to get me a new one. They were pretty cool about it, but I still had to pay shipping to send it back. And the new one uses a different motor design, which tells me that they were having problems with their old motors. Anyways, I have my cutout capped with a piece of metal, and I'm going to sell my new, never used e-cutout to help pay for a GMMG exhaust.

It seems there is NO dominant company for electric cut outs.
Every major brand has many tarnishes, and horror stories.
It doesn't seem to be that hard of a thing to keep it from failing...
