anybody throw an LSx engine in a '96 -'97 fbody?
I am in the process of hunting down a '97 Ws6 for a project car. I would be shooting for 500+ RWHP. It seems that it is next to impossible for an LT1 to pull this off without spending a LOAD of money and sacrificing alot of streetability. Wouldn't it be easy to drop in an LS1 or LS6 into the older car? Would it bolt up to the T56 that is in the '96/7 cars? Has anybody done this?

Check out the hybird section on LS1tech.com, there is lots of good info over there regarding such a swap. I believe you'll need a different input shaft and bellhousing to make the LT1 tranny work around the LSx motors.
