Any A/C experts out there?

My A/C seems to work fine when I first start the engine. After a while, the compressor stops turning. One of two things seem to cause this. I have notice that under a high rev condition (1st, 2nd gears revved up) the A/C stops working. Another thing I noticed today, I first started the engine, A/C compressor kicked on. I shut it off and drove around. After the car has warmed up and was driven for a good 30 mins, the compressor wouldn't kick in. I live in S. Fla, air temp was about 92 today. System was just charged. When the compressor does kick in, it is pretty cold. Any ideas? I am dying down here.........

If you are sure the freon level is correct(IE checked with gauges), check the clutch cycling switch..... It might be bad or loose conection????

It was recharged after the engine swap. Had the same problem before though. What is a cycle switch? Where is it? What does it do? At this point, I am ready to replace all sensors and switches. I just don't know where/how many there are.....

You can check that sensor by putting the car on a scanner and checking the A/C pressure, when my sensor was bad it read 0psi, which disables the a/c clutch. My new sensor only lasted a week for some reason...

Not sure I get what you mean. I scanned the car and it threw a several codes, 66,67 and something about a transducer. I cleared the codes (didn't write them down like an idiot ) and the only one that came back was 67. I check the resistance between all 3 pins before and after the problem and the resistance was the same. What else could cause this? It is getting hot down here in South Florida..............HELP

The scanner I have allows you do view "operational" data. Real time data like RPM, vehicle, speed, O2 stats. I"m also able to view the A/C psi. and when my sensor was bad it read 0psi instead of the 200-250 it should have. The sensor is about $60... You if you had a new one or, a friends you could compare the Ohms across the pins, or slap one in off a buddies car. You won't loose any refridgerant when replacing it, there is a schrader valve

So I just fixed my car. I had enlarged the connectors on the plug that goes into the pressure sensor when I jumped it with the wire. So it wasn't making a good connection on the sensor

Still pulling my hair out. I replaced the sensor, figured it was worth it. No joy. As I scan, I can watch A/C demand turn on when I turn on the A/C and then a second later A/C clutch turns on but no cold air.

When I started the car this afternoon after replacing the sensor, the A/C was ice cold, cycled on and off for about 10 minutes in the garage, figured I fixed it, took it for a test spin and not more than 2 minutes from the house, it quit. It threw a code 67 again. Both fans are on and running. Are there any other sensors that could cause this? I've tried to jumper the relay but no joy, which two do I jumper????

I added a small can of 134A tonight and ran it at idle for over 30 mins with no problem. I put a temp gauge in the vent and got a cold 58 degrees. I will take it for a test drive tomorrow but want to know if anyone else has had this problem?? I don't want to take it to the shop but I am running out of ideas.........
