Another new buyer
Well I, too, am a new owner.
Bought a 1995 M6 LT5 Z28 from the dealership I work for today for $4000!
1995 (Built 14 Sept 1994 at 13.11 at the St. Therese, QC plant)
LT1 Z28
88,888 miles(!)
50% Pirelli PZERO Asimmetrico tires (!!!)
GM updated PCM with NO "Skip Shift" (I did this)
New T56 with Centerforce clutch <-- on or off, there's no slipping!
Unbelievable amounts of nasty-*** cigar and cigarette residue on EVERYTHING inside - but not damaged at all
NO T-tops
Bone stock other than that
This car was a steal since the salesperson was nice enough to tell me what we had in the car trade-in wise. The previous owner was the original and he traded it in on a 2000 Ford Exploder for the 4x4.
I live in Carson City, NV and we have tons of snow at times which makes these cars into a giant hockey puck but who cares, right? We'll see...
The best part is my dealership is GM! We sell GMC/Cadillac/Buick and man do I have access to everything! Super-Experienced Techs, GM diagnostic equipment, engine flush machines, OEM parts at cost, etc! What a score. I look forward to everyone here helping me out as far as "I own one" stuff the Techs can't help me with. Need parts? Let me know. Can't do it that often but I'll try to help if I can. Can't wait to try and get 400hp out of my Z!
Hell of a site!

Re: Another new buyer
Congrats on your purchase!
While I do agree that $4K price for that car is a pretty good deal, I'll have to say that the dealership probably gave $2K at the most for the trade in. No matter what that salesman showed you.
But, all that matters is that you got a nice car at a nice prive.

Hey welcome to the board!! Sounds like you got a nice car there. The motor is going to be an LT1 though. Also it is possible they put more money in the trade in for the Z and sold the Explorer for exactly what they were asking wich would allow them to offer more for the Z to get the deal done. I sell cars for a dealership so I have a pretty good idea how it all works.

Re: Another new buyer
Okay, okay, okay. The LT5 was a typo, but as you can see it says LT1 below. Got it? I wouldn't touch the Lotus-Coengineered-Mercury Marine-Built LT5 anyways 'cause they're too complicated to work on for an average Joe such as myself. Nice engine, though. We've actually had a white ZR-1 traded in and it sold the same day. The guy traded it in on a Cadillac CTS-V (LS2 power!). I would like to know how the hell GM got the LT1 in my engine bay! Did they design the friggin' front end around the engine?
The dealership gave the 'maros owner $3000 as a trade-in. I saw the Deal/ACV sheet. So I made them $1000+. Oh, well. It was worth it. Retail it was tagged at $8995 (!!!!!!!!).
Thanks for all the replies! I was sure you'd all seen this a million times before. I will try and get some images today to show it off. I spent over three hours detailing it myself and I found no less than 10 cigar remnants inside, both in the console and under the seats. The towels used to clean the interior were black!. Much more to come...
