Alarm goes off for no reason / Doom light wackey / 99 Trans Am
My 99 Trans Am has lost its mind!
Examples of what it does, not every time, but every once in a while:
------------
1) Lock the doors and 10 seconds later the alarm goes off.
2) After driving the car I turn it off and the red alarm light on the dash board blinks before I even get out or lock the doors.
3) Shut all the doors and the doom light doesn't turn off (I realize they stay on for a bit, but the lights stay on longer then they should).
4) Finally can get the doom light to shut off after opening and close the doors and hatch. Not guaranteed to work first time, but it finally gets it.
Now, things that I theorize that might have caused the problem.
--------------------
1) The day that it started doing it I had opened the hatch in a rain down poor (darn Hurricane Jeanne). Some water got inside.
2) During that same hatch opening, my idiot friend threw something in the back and slammed shut the hatch, but the bag he threw in back was too big for the hatch to shut. It slammed down pretty hard and I remember it sounding pretty rough
(idiot).
Has this happened to anyone else? I'm pretty sure the alarm is confused of when the doors are shut or opened, but how do I get it on track again? I'm not able to lock the doors because the horn goes off! And the worst thing is, its not every time, about 1 in 3.
Suggestions? Ideas?

mine did the same exact thing.....
your shock sensor got wet..... it is behind the passenger side rear panel of your hatch.... (where the spare tire is)
pop it off and you'll see the shock sensor stuck to the fender . unhook it from the harness and it fits in the palm of your hand... they go on ebay for like 15 bucks

It sucks not having an answer to this electronical stuff but that sounds reasonable enough! Awesome, thanks for the help poker!
