I bought a car that had the air bag disconnected for an aftermarket steering wheel. I got an air bag steering wheel and connected it with a working coil. When I turned the car on the light would blink then stay lit. I took my scan tool and it said that the second air bag module had been set off and needed to be replaced, the one underneath the council. I took a module from a working car and replaced the old module. Now when I turn the car on, the air bag lights up and stays lit, does not blink. It also displays code 1049 I believe, this is what the mechanic said. I took the module out of a canadian car to stick in the American car, and the canadian car was a vert while the American car is a t-top. Both cars are 96 V8. One is an SS(vert), while the other is a Z28(t-Top) Any suggestions as to what I am doing incorrectly. Thanks for any help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
