actual horsepower?

I've read many places online that although Chevy advertised the LS1 camaros as 305 HP, dyno tests proved them to be actually 345hp. I'm wondering if the advertised 275 LT1 is correct is was that under-advertised as well?

the ls1s were dynoing around 290-300hp bone stock at the wheels. with a drivetrain loss of 15% that's about 333-345hp at the crank. some cars dynoed as high as 315. so they were underrated.

the lt1s were dynoing about 240-250rwhp stock...which with the same losses equals 276-287hp at the crank.

they were not underrated

Basically, there is NO DIFFERENCE between the F-body LS1 and the Corvette LS1, other than the exhaust. The 'Vettes run a true-dual exhaust, whereas the F-bodies have a 2-into-1 (Y-pipe). How much power is lost through that? Who knows ... a few HP?

My '02 Z28 put 317 HP at the rear wheels, through the T56 tranny . That's with JUST an intake lid!
