Accelerator Cable Broke

I was at the track a few months ago and after a few runs my accelerator cable snapped. Turns out the cable pulled through the plastic piece where it hooks onto the pedal. Got a new one from the local dealer and put it on. Went back to the track the other day and it snapped again. Same thing happend, cable pulled through the plastic piece at the pedal. I don't think there is any way to adjust the cable so any ideas what else may be causing the problem??

Re: Accelerator Cable Broke

Throttle linkage looks good and moves freely. I figured it has to be something on the pedal side but not sure what. I thought there might be some kind of spring or stopper missing.
