Ac Not Working?
Ac Not Working?
2 days ago my a/c was working great. I had the car at a stop and the low speed fan was on because the temperature would not go crazy and get high to the point where the high speed fans kick on...it would stop at the middle.
Today I turned on the ac and no cold air and I dont feel the hot air moving
underneath the car when i open my drivers door and stick my hand underneath the car so I am thinking that the fan has failed which is preventing the pressures in the condenser coil from going to the appropriate psi as there is no airflow through the condenser coil and for this reason i have no cold air and my car is heating up faster than if I had the a/c on
(I know that when the ac is turned on the low fan kicks on)
AM I RIGHT???
WHAT CAN I LOOK FOR?

Re: Ac Not Working?
OK....I did some troubleshooting and this is what I got...
.
-When the **** is on defrost, ac, or max or bi-level (when the low speed fan
is supposed to come on, the fan will not come on. Both fans, however will
come on when the temperature reaches 2hundred and something degrees (the fan set temperature).
.
-Also, I noticed that the compressor is no longer clicking in any of the modes
that it is supposed to come on
...
so I am thinking there is something wrong with a wiring or relay or a component but I dont know what to look for at this point...
BTW, the dampers do work as the air is diverted properly at the setting the only problem is it comes out warm....
.
I need this low speed fan to work because as soon as my temp reaches 1/2way the radiator builds up a lot of pressure and my radiator leak starts...
.
PLEASE HELP..>!!!!!

Re: Ac Not Working?
WOOHOOO!!!
So I was going through
SHOEBOX
website and somewhere in there I read about pulling the PCM fuse for 15 secs and plug it back in...
Pulled fuse...lit up and took a couple of puffs, put the fuse back on, turned
the car on and set the control **** to MAX and CLICK goes the compressor
and I left the car running and the temperature gauge never hit the 180*
degree mark as the low speed fan came on......YYYEEEAAAHHHH!!!!
Question though,
why would this happen? Is this an indication that the PCM is getting ready to go out?

Re: Ac Not Working?
TTT
It happened to me again yesterday...
On my way home from work the ac or low speed fan would not come on and
compressor would not click. removed the PCM BAT fuse for 10 seconds and
reinstalled it and all works good now...what is the cause of this???
