AC acting wierd

I have a problem with my air. The low and high pressure switches are brand new, the AC has been drained and refilled a few times.. The AC works great when it works. But when you first start the car it will not work. When you rev it up, it will blow cold for a while.. Sometimes for a long time, and sometimes for only a few minutes, when I come to a stop and idle, it will not blow cold. I put it in neutral and rev it up, and boom.. Back to blowing cold... Anybody know of any TSB's on this for a 93 AUTOMATIC Transam.

This is becoming a pain in the ***.

Please help. I thought I heard of something about this for 93s and a reflash was required.. but I might just be hoping for a fix.

Let me know

Sounds like your expansion valve might be shot ... or a clogged evap core maybe?

Sorry I can't be more help, just initial thoughts about your problem.

Stoopalini is right, your x valve is bad. But the person that vacuumed the system and recharged it should have seen that. The valve corrodes and sticks over time. Be sure your dryer is changed when everything is done.

In this diagram (courtesy of Shoebox's tech page) I believe #22 is the expansion valve. #12 is the dryer slopokrodrigez is talking about ... and I completely agree; the dryer should be changed anytime the A/C system is opened up.
