Well since I have no choice to drive my 94 maro in the winter, witch i wish i didnt have to,

when the abs enguages and starts working it draws almost all the amps from the alternator, the voltage drops from 14.4 to 10.6 when abs kicks in.

ive used my meater to get these results on the voltage, the alt is a fresh rebult 80a stock alt for my car, i have all power options ect.

basiclly i was wondering do the abs motors draw this much current or do i have a possible problem?

also i have a red top optima in it too that is 3 months old, so to drop voltage from this battery it must be insane pull, ive worked as a pro audio installer and have not seen a draw like this from amps that draw hella current!

The ABS unit shouldn't draw that much its just solinoids and a pump. You may have a short somewhere or something wrong with the charging system.

 

I don't think your ABS is actually drawing that much current; if it did, would blow a fuse or something.

Sounds like the alternator is working alone in that situation, no current from the battery. Maybe a loose/corroded cable or an internal flaw in the battery that only loses continuity when you brake. If you can't find a problem with cables, borrow a battery from a bud and see if problem goes away.

 

well the battery was checked and charging system too thx to autozone all checks out fine, i can run the blower motor power seats a/c radio rear defroster ect and it doesnt happen just when abs kicks in.
