About to purchase 96Z28, a few questions.

All signs point to yes that im going to be purchasing a 1996 Z28 Camaro T-Top A4.
I had a few questions about the car
1. I noticed the drivers side window wants to roll up slow- barely roll up at all, how much does this repair cost, I saw estimates of 80 bucks for a new motor from GM but what about labor ?
2. It has an aftermarket keyless entry/remote start and for some reason if the heater is on high it will unlock/lock the doors, but other than that its fine, is this anything to be concerned about ?
3. I noticed the windshield wipers had a slight little delay then where a bit slow right as you first turned them on but after that they where fine, anything to worry about there ?
4. I heard the T-Tops where bad about leaking, anything I should look for outside of the obvious cracked or brittle rubber ?
5. What im looking at is a 96 Z28 A4 T-top, power windows/locks/chrome wheels with 70k miles and he was asking 8500 but I do beleive I will be able to pick it up for around 7k, but the car is in near perfect condition, driven softly, garage kept, and 1 person in the car almost always, and that was the driver who is also the orignal owner so the interior is perfect.

Thanks guys, I know this is a heck of a first post but ive been lerching reading and performing searches all I can to find info and I have answered a lot of ?'s I had but these still linger. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Re: About to purchase 96Z28, a few questions.

The power window motors are a big problem on these cars. Do a search Shoebox has a how to guide on changing the motors. They are very simple to change out. I would get a motor from autozone they are cheaper and come with lifetime warranties and you'll probably need it as no matter what the motors go out. I would take the car to a car wash and power wash it. That will show you how bad it leaks. Mine leaks a little but only when its power washed. I would plan on removing that aftermarket alarm system as i'm sure it will give you trouble later on. I don't like the aftermarket ones.

Ahh thats cool, I saw the guide on how to do it, but I was wondering if anyone knew about how much it would cost just to let a mechanic do it.
I thought about pressure washing it but didn't know if that was appropriate, but I will now.
You think that price is outrageous? I knew the 8500 was because the highes kbb was 7k.

I think 7k is still a little high. Sure this car has 100k on it but its an SS and has some decent expensive mods. The hood, spoiler and rims will cost you 2k. Plus its a real SS for 8k.
