99 camaro ss question

Anyone know if vin tags are supposed to be placed on the inner lip of the fenders on this car? I'm trying to sell the car, owned it since new and the buyer seems to believe they are supposed to be there...

Re: 99 camaro ss question

I know they are on some cars, for example my 2001 gmc pickup has tags stamped on the fenders. However, on the camaro there are no tags, from what i've seen in pictures It doesnt look like they are supposed to be there, but just wondering if anyone knows for SURE

Re: 99 camaro ss question

Federal law requires car manufacturers to either mark all the high theft parts (parts cars are stollen and stripped for) or install a security system that will disable the starter. On the F body GM went the security system route with the pass key system. Although it's not required many car manufacturers do both.

NO...GM did not mark the fenders and front end parts on the f-body
