98 f-body rear end difference??

I have heard that the 98 LS1 cars have a different rear end than the 99-02 cars, is this true? If so, are the 98 rear ends as bad as people make out? I mean, we all know that none of them are real great, but is the 98 even worse? Thanks in advance.

i think the only differences are some of the plug in connectors for the ABS and things like that.

as for internals...gears, differential, axles...they are all the crappy same
