97 Z28, what is it worth?

Looking at a 97 Z28 that has 53k miles on it. A4, T-top, and leather. The buyer is asking $6K. The car was involved in an accident where the front nose was replaced. Dont have any of the receipts from the repair work. The car seems to be in really good shape. Exterior looks really good. The two screws by the headlights that bolt the nose on really stand out though as they are stainless steel screws on a black car. Not sure why it was repaired that way. I think the screw locations are standard though right? Interior looks brand new. Any thoughts on the price? Any feedback welcomed.

Thanks for the feedback! Is it common to see the screws right in front of the headlights? I am planning on looking at a few to check this out. I seem to remember my last camaro having black screws????

Re: 97 Z28, what is it worth?

Called and talked to the original owner of the car. Accident involved replacing the front nose and the hood. Actually seemed like a really genuine person. Older gentleman. Said there was absolutely no frame damage and verified the mileage when he sold it and even told me how much it was sold for. Said he replaced the opti and the water pump right before he sold it. The interior of the car looks brand new. I am going to think heavily on this one. Might try to talk it down to 5500.

Thoughts?

Kelley Blue Book value for this car is $6,895 assuming perfect condition, $6,495 assuming good condition. NADA book value is $5,925 (clean retail). Kelley tends to quote a little high but I figured it'd give you an idea if nothing else. All things considered based on what you've told us, $6k doesn't sound unreasonable for this particular car, especially with the low mileage, but there's always room to haggle a bit . Anyway, hope this helps and good luck with your search.

not a fan of LT1's that isn't an SS or MQBM....6k is quite high...where are you located?? seems like the market for the cars must be booming if you can get a repaired Z for that price.

just an example of what a LT1 Z can go for out here.

LS1 Z vert

Damn, those are both good prices for both cars. I'm livin' in the wrong part of the country lol.....honestly though, I'd much rather have the LT1 Z, not a huge fan of verts on the 4th gens (I'd rock one but prefer t-tops or a hardtop). Not to mention the LT1 has about half the miles that LS1 Z has....
