97 Z28 w/90000 miles, New Clutch soon???

My girlfriends Z28 is coming up on 90000 miles. According to her she's never had it in for a new clutch. She's complaining about a noise (grinding/vibration) that occasionally happens while she is shifting gears while driving. I drive it going 60 on the freeway and drop it to 4th and step on it and there's no slipping that I can notice.

She is a very conservative driver, doesn't even try to chirp the tires or do big burnouts, never has as long as I have been with her, I was the first to do it in her car. Compared to my camaro (69 with a 4-spd) her clutch pedal disengages the clutch the instant you touch it, I have to push all the way to the floor. I'm assuming this is partly because she has a hydraulic and mine is not, but is that normal to barely push on the pedal and disconnect the clutch on her car???

Is it possible that she's gone this long on the stock clutch?

Is there an "easy" way I can get to it and see if it's going or not, or how much is left of it?

Also what things typically go wrong at 90,000 or around that mileage that I can look for while tinkering on it?

Thanks a bunch,

Jon

78k on my stock clutch... mine is mostly in the top 3" of pedal, and pulling out the hole is kinda rough sometimes, but I have no slipping yet.

Thanks for all the input, this is a surprise, with everything else that wears out the one part that is subject to some hard use (brakes not excluded) lasts that dang long.

I melted half way through my clutch in my car in a pretty short time, but I have almost double the HP and torque she has and I enjoy the long burn outs and chirping 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear.
