97 Z28 slowww wiinnndowwsss

Just picked up a 97 Z28, the windows are moving very slow. I have to replace the driver side trim bezel, to keep the switch in place, as well. Do I need to pull the panels off, grease the gears and maybe clean the wiring, to get them to move a little faster, or could it be another issue? Thanks

Window motors are the first thing to go on a 4th gen. Anything you can do to make the window go up and down with less drag is helpful, but won't "fix" a tired motor.

Look at the top of the "How To's" section of my website (link in sig) for window help.

The driver side window in my 98 was getting verrrry slow so I ordered a new motor. While awaiting delivery, I took off the door panel and noticed the grease in the short tracks was fairly hard and dry. I scraped it out and replaced it with fresh silicon grease. Now the window was much faster. That was 5 years ago and the replacement window motor I ordered is still in it's box in the garage.
