ill make this short and sweet.

1997 Camaro SS
has white gauge overlay, wires coming off it go to nowhere i bought the car with the overlay

when headlights come on my radio lights go off and so does my odometer.
all fuses are good. dash lights do not light up at all, but my speedo tach ect all function properly.

how do i get the overlay to light up? i wired the wires to a pos. and ground and they did nothing. all my aftermarket gauges are lighting up now after i removed the wiring from my dimmer fuse and rewired them.

any help? could it be the dimmer switch?

 

This is with the interior light thumb wheel turned all the way up or down?

Some of the overlays need a control box for them to operate especially if it is an older LED one. The older LEDs were not made to run directly off a 12 volt system.

 

yep with the thumb wheel. and i looked all over for a controll box and couldnt find one.
