is the 96-97 WS6 hood a direct bolt on?

or are there parts that i will need? im getting a bare oem hood...

all the parts appear to be the same except that the striker on GM parts direct says "w/o ram air" like there is a separate part, but there is no part number listed for one with ram air...

is there anything i need to buy (other than the hood grills and i already have those) to put an oem WS6 hood on my T/A or will my stock non ws6 hardware suffice?

I'll have a look when I get to work in the morning if you don't have an answer by then.

I think it should be just a bolt on...the primary latch, secondary latch and striker are all the same part number...the only thing that is listed differently is the hood struts...specific to WS6 cars...12369197 x2

IIRC this has to do with the amount of pressure on the struts and that the stock ones cause the hood to go up too fast or something? but theoretically 13+ year old stock struts would have weekend to the point that they wouldnt be too strong for the lighter hood?

any problems? i heard the hoods can crack or something? again im assuming older worn stock non ws6 hood struts will work ok and won't damage the hood... so i too will probably use my stock 95 shocks

I used my original struts when I installed my Harwood fiberglass hood over 3 years ago and its been fine...they do have an easier job lifting this hood 4sure.

The hood has been on the car for 8 years with no problems.
