I have a 94 Z28 and im looking for a part name and or number. The part im in need of is the shaft(or whatevet it is) that connects the hatch key mechanism to the lock release. I turn my hatch key and the mechanism spins good but the part that connects to the unlocking mechanism is missing. Any idea of good place to purchase such a part?

 

 

Here's the pages from the parts manual that show the lock mechanism breakdown and I believe the part you're looking for is #15. If that's the case, Fred is right, you're going to have to locate one from someone parting a car out or a local salvage yard because the part is no longer available from Chevrolet. You might also try Ebay too.
