94 SLP CAI for a 96

I am looking into a chrome SLP CAI that was on a 94 Z for my 96 Z, I hear that will require some modification, anyone know anything about that?
I would spend some time searching but I need to know pretty quick.
Thanks

Not sure what you mean by a chrome CAI, but if your taking about the chrome elbow, I beleave the only mod is for the vented opti. line. You either have to drill a hole in the elbow and install a grommet or move it to the plastic.

No modification is necessary. It is not SLP, it is a General Motors Performance Parts Item, P/N 12363979. It is listed to fit 94-97 model years. It looks exactly like the black powder coated SLP item, however, it is polished stainless steel. I used to have one on my 97. Comes with seal off panel & two K&N filters. Over $300 from the dealer. Sold mine for $150 a few months after the 97 got totaled.

Hope you get a good deal,

PJ

Why not just buy the SLP version for even less $$$$$?

That is a fair deal, and there were differences in the years. They were made for GMPP by SLP. I bought mine off another board. The only trouble I had was the connection to the MAF (the stock rubber piece is needed apparently and mine came from the dealer with a K&N) and the fitting that slips into the slot on the front clip ( a little dremel work fixed that). I corrected the rubber connection bit with a 3" sewer pipe connector at home depot.
