94 LT1 Formula M6 Pedal Removal
94 LT1 Formula M6 Pedal Removal
Greetings,
I am finally getting around to changing the pedals out of my Formula and I have to say, this freaking sucks! I did a search on here and I couldn't find any really good information on the M6 pedal removal process aside from a few guys saying how much it sucks, and I agree, fully. Now I have removed everything the pedals are just dangling around the steering column and I can't figure out how to get them out of the car without completely removing the steering column. I have taken the brackets out along with the bolts that connect the steering column to the firewall so that the steering column drops but there is no end in sight. It appears that the pedals are being blocked from moving forwards by some unknown bracket and I am at my wits end with this. Does anyone have any advice or tips on making this process more efficient? Am I doing something wrong, and what do I need to do to get these god awful pedals out of my car and move on with my project!!! Thanks in advance.

are you taking the whole thing out? If so then rotate it clockwise and slip it out......I have takent the steering column out to get most of then out but that was with a full cage etc. Without a cage I think it would just come out if you turn it the right way.
Its not that bad

I have a 10 point roll cage in my car without a swing bar. The pedal assembly cannot be rotated in any direction and I do not want to tear the whole steering column out just to get the damn pedals. Any suggestions?
Take the steering column out. As mentioned above it is simple to do and only takes about 20 minutes. Make sure you have removed the small bracket at the top of the pedals. It bolts to the pedal and the bottom of the dash.
