94 camaro can you jump ac compressor to kick it on

Got a 94 camaro z28 tring to get some ac going I know I gotta vac it replaced the dryer and o rings now I wanna make sure the compressor will even kick on before I throw 60 bucks in Freon at it is there anyway to jump it to get it to kick on for a split second

I remember my dad had a 81 Chevy pickup. He used to unplug the compressor pressure switch and jump across the terminals with a piece of wire with crimped spade tips. I don't remember exactly how he did it but it was a pressure switch and it would run for sure. Maybe someone who reads this will be able to elaborate on it more for you, but it can be done

Pull the PCM fuse or unhook the battery for a few seconds. That will clear any a/c codes and allow the compressor to run. Most of the first can will go in just from the vacuum and there will be enough pressure to keep the compressor running. Three twelve ounce cans works good for an empty system. You may want to add some oil too.
