93 Z28 Export model differences?

Hi Guys,

First time post, so take it easy on me!

I have a 1993 Z28, that I have owned since near new in New Zealand, it's only done 11,000km's so I am reluctant to part with it, I am shifting back to Canada and want to bring it with me, but need to know what the difference is between it and a normal domestic market, It was produced in Canada orginally and was fitted with the factory export style tailights,
VIN # 2G1FP22P2P2103353

Can anyone tell me the difference between the cars?, as in order to bring it back to Canda I have to bring it up to Candian spec, what ever that may be.

Hard to say what exactly you'd have to do to make your car meet Canadian specs . . . as far as I know all the provinces have different standards for safetying vehicles

One thing I can say is that all cars built after a certain year are supposed to have day time running lights, but I don't know what that year would be

I think your best bet would be to contact the Ministry of Transportation for whatever province you are going to relocate too. You should be able to find their websites by googling them

SOrry if this wasn't alot of help, but it's a pretty broad question . . . jsut curious but was it built for right or left hand drive?

Thanks for the reply,

It was a factory LHD car has the speedo in K's looks identical to any normal Z28, except for the tailights...

I believe the only differences were the tallights and the fold away mirrors.

I dont know about the ones in New Zealand, but the ones exported to France had a special button marked "if another country invades-PUSH", which automatically raised a white flag from the antenna mast when pressed...by law, all French vehicles are suppose to have this.

...ok so im no help.

Thanks Guys for the response, does anyone know or work for a camaro friendly dealer preferably in Canada, who would be able to write out a statment of compliance for this car (more than happy to pay for it), or atleast outline the official difference between them (export vs Domestic)? In talking with my customs broker he said if you can outline the difference the car can be modified to suit once it arrives.

Thanks Again.
