93-02 cneter console questions

Besides the different consoles for the A4 and the 6spd, how many different consoles came in the Camaros from 93-03? In other words, how many times did the sytle of the console change over those years? What years? Anyone have a good pic of the console around the ashtray area and what year is it. Pics can be sent to PowerChicken93@aol.com
BTW, I am looking to buy cheap and/or trashed consoles that are in OK shape around the ashtray area.
Thanks

I guess you could say there were a few. The style changed in '97, from auto to manual you could get 8 different consoles between the two different f-bodies.

So the camaro had the following consoles
93-96 manual
93-96 auto
97-02 manual
97-02 auto
Is that correct?

The Firdbird is the same but changed in 98...I think. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks

actually the 93-96 Camaro consoles were the same for automatic and manual except for the snap-in trim bezel around the shifter. I suspect the other consoles differed in similar ways.

Ok, so the 93-96 Camaros have the same basic console w/ the exception of the shifter area? Is that the only difference...is there any difference in the ashtray area?

Anyone have good pictures of a camaro console?

Thanks

The ashtray is part of the shifter bezel so yes, it is different.

HERE is a picture of a 1993-96 6-speed shifter bezel. and HERE is a picture of the console itself.

I dont have a picture of the automatic bezel.

Thanks for the info but the pics don't really show the console...from what I can see.

I dont understand. Those pictures are of noting but the console. How could they "not really show [it]"?

What do you want to know? What are you looking for specifically?

I think there is a descrepancy on what the word shifter ****, and console means. Check out my website. Click on the pictures that say console. This is out of my 96 Z.

That's what I needed to see. So that console is the same from 93-96 manuals, correct? Thanks!

Re: 93-02 cneter console questions

Whitey if you are in need of a 6 spd insert i might let mine go. I'm gonna try to sell my old 6spd console as a whole but if there is no interest i may just part it out. Mine has a broken lid and right next to where the ashtray sits there has been a hole cut next to it for my ecut out switch. These facts alone make me think no one will want it. I'll be yanking it out in the next week or two for a 97+

I am wanting the console itself...I won't be neededing the insert. I'm interested as long as the ashtray area isn't cracked or broken and the ashtray lid is good and functions properly. PM me w/ a shipped price to 19518. I'm looking to get one ASAP but it's got to be CHEAP.
Thanks

Ok, I think I figured out the confusion. Whitney is looking for the 6-speed bezel, not the console. He is looking for the part I showed in the first picture I posted earlier, with the boot and ash tray. He is refering to this part as the "console".

The console is actually the part with the glove box in it and the slot for the e-brake, etc as shown in my second picture..

Whitney says he doesnt need the insert, but then says the ashtray must be in good shape. Well, the ashtray is part of the insert, right?

What are you calling the insert? Why dont you post a picture of exactly what you want.
