80 amp alternator in 40 amp system

80 amp alternator in 40 amp system

Any problems in replacing a 40 amp alternator with an 80 amper?

Both are three wire systems.

no problen as long as the charge wire(from the stud on the alt to the batt) is at least 12 gauge wire, if you were going to a 100amp or higher, i would say 10 or 8 gauge
