Re: 6al ignition

most people either like them,or hate them. (6A or the 6AL). MSD boxes have been known to go bad without warning and drive you insane to try and find out why the car wont start only to find out your box is shot.

on a mild street car,i personally wouldnt use one, just a good HEI distributor w/ a 50,000 volt coil. thats what im running on my car and its doing great. but on a street/strip car its probably worth the money.

sorry for the almost useless post, just trying to share thoughts

...well.... the 6al does have a rev control to pop in rpm modules so you dont over-rev. It's good for something..

Re: 6al ignition

My 6AL has saved my motor a few times when I missed shifts and once when my gas peddle got stuck in the floormat, resulting in a short WOT towards a busy intersection. I didn't snap at first and just turn the key off. I had the clutch pushed in for like half a second before I figured it out. Luckily, I keep a 5500 rpm pill in mine. It didn't spit or sputter while redlining at all, unlike what the factory rev limiter used to make the motor do.
Just my experiences with it.
