??? 5 questions plzz answer ???

im trying to get more power out of my 1991 camaro rs 305 with 97,000 miles on it , ive already got dual snorkel intake "needs new hoses though", 3.73 gearing, 16 inch tires, short shifter, high rise intake,kn filter, msd ignition, edelbrock headers, 3in borla exhaust with three inch cutout, and i just put a new water pump and new spark plugs in my car too.

now ive got several questions

1. would a custom burnt chip do me alot of good powerwise "after i put on a few more hopups such as..."

2.what kind of cam do i need to get? and what kind of power increase out of it?

3.im trying to figure out what i should do about heads for my 305 cheaply? "such as porting and polishing the stock ones"

4. where can i get some new hoses for my dual snorkel /ram air setup?

5.anything other ideas yall would recomend?

ps my car is in the shop getting a new paint job as we speak. " im quite excited"

Re: ??? 5 questions plzz answer ???

little clarification..

what exactly is the "high rise intake"??
and i'm assuming that it's still got the TBI setup on it?

i'd look into something like a used LT1 cam. it's dirt cheap, and is a good increase over the stocker.

heads will help, but in all honesty...spending that much money on the engine is kindda a waste. you're better off saving the money towards a crate motor.

$800 for new heads (s/r torquer 305s) or $1400 for a 260hp 350

and you could always throw a bigger cam in the 350 later.

Re: ??? 5 questions plzz answer ???

well that really doesn't answer my question.

what brand/model is the intake. just raising it doesn't make it better.

something like an edelbrock performer or performer RPM manifold would free up some power.

definate next step is to get better heads and a bigger cam. the cam in the 305s is absolutely tiny...and the heads leave much to be desired as well.

check out the world products S/R torquer 305s

depending on the lift of the cam you choose, maybe have them milled a bit to boost compression.

i'm not sure what the limitations of the stock TBI is, but i'm sure it can handle a mild h/c setup.

maybe look into doing a mini-ram, or stealth ram, or even an LT1 intake swap....or just go carb...much cheaper.

i think im going to get the world products S/R torquer heads for my 305 anyone else here have them, are they truly a good boost in power? and could i order these from say auto zone or some place or is it gonna have to be online. and if i was to put roller rockers and good parts on it would it be worth it or should i just switch stuff over from the stock head?
